BC Designs copper countertop basins are made in the traditional hand crafted manner used for centuries, and therefore there will be gentle undulations and some colour variation in the finish so every basin is unique. Copper ages over time, so it must be looked after regularly. We offer an optional maintenance kit to help maintain the basins original look.

Maintaining Your Copper Basin:

For the copper outer finish we recommend to routinely clean with warm soapy water and non abrasive cloth and dry immediately after use. Avoid dripping taps, sharp objects and the use of chemicals.

Maintain the finish by re-applying a suitable wax seal (BC Designs recommend Renaissance wax) regularly every 4-6 weeks depending on use. More usage will require more maintenance.

If the wax wears off and oxidisation develops on the copper surface, clean the basin with a fine metal cleaner, such as Autosol, then re apply the wax.

Please be aware this basin is not lacquered and will require regular maintenance to keep it shiny.

To keep the nickel inner finish in premium condition, the wax seal should be maintained by regular re application. Do not use abrasive metal cleaner on nickel plated items as this could wear through the finish. A small amount of "Peek" metal cleaner can be used on minor tarnishing.
