Garage door types and compatibility
|
The are generally 5 types of garage door - Retractable (Up and over), Canopy, Sectional, Roller and Side Hinged.
Our Foresee garage door openers are compatible with Retractable and Sectional doors plus Canopy doors when coupled with the special Converter Arm (see product option).
Which door type do I have? |
Retractable 'up and over' - A large proportion of the door swings outwards as it opens and then slides away into the ceiling of your garage, pivot points are located at the top of the door. |
Canopy door - The door swings outwards as it opens (but not so much as a retractable door) it then slides upwards into the ceiling of your garage leaving one-third of the door protruding outside the garage and taking up less room inside.

Sectional door - Made up of several separate horizontally hinged panels, the entire door rises vertically upwards and then backwards into the ceiling space. |
Roller and side hinged doors are not compatible with the Foresee garage door opener. |
